About a year ago, I lost a notebook. It had a lot of ideas in it. Some were quite good. Some were decidedly ill-advised. Very few of them had been actually completed. Nevertheless, I had some memory of what they were; so I made a list of the uncompleted ones. There were around 30 of them, which seemed fortuitously similar to the number of days in a month. And wouldn’t it be tremendously neat (in terms of tidying up brainspace) to finish all these unfinished ideas and put them somewhere, one a day, for a month? So I gathered up the good ideas and the bad, indiscriminately, and set to it.
Somewhat later, with some help, I embarked upon another creative project: making a person. I hear tell it’s a good thing to have a very tidy brainspace indeed before popping out a small human. So that put a deadline on the whole thing, and that deadline is quite soon.
Hence: this blog. And what I like to call ‘MOPS’, or the Month of Posting Stuff, and which other people may want to call ‘June’. Desiring the chance to get into the swing of posting something every day, and having glooped a lot of stuff onto the interwebs in the dim and distant past, however, I’m starting off with ‘MOPOS’: the Month of Posting Old Stuff. MOPOS will be May, and whilst it’s unlikely that I’ll post every day, I will try at least to post the correct number of things.
I hope those of you who have stumbled this way enjoy them.
